As you get older, it gets tougher and tougher to get around. This can be significantly true if you have range-of-movement difficulties. Make a better tub experience plus install a walk-in bathtub. 

Determine the requirements needed, like step height plus tub width. 

Choose the location to put in the walk-in tub with safety in mind. A disabled person requires to walk into the bathroom plus go straight to the tub, if possible. 

Think logically. If you can't put a second bathtub in the bathroom (and few are), you need to simply take away the old tub or stall shower. Locate the access panel for the plumbing or create one as you go thru the wall to find to the pipes. Flip off the water and get started. 

Remove the tub liner, shower wall, or as much of the bathroom tile as you need using a pry bar. Disconnect the water pipes. Clean off the old caulking together with a utility knife. Pry the old tub or shower away from the wall and take it outside. 

Check out the install site. Set the bathtub in place plus reconnect the water pipes and fittings. Check for water leaks before you begin to put the wall materials back in. Match the initial line of the bath wall area once you add the new materials. A tub liner may have to be custom ordered or you can cut your own plus apply trim in the concession areas. 

Make sure you employ caulking in all areas that can leak into the wall beneath the liner or tile. Doors, added trim and the areas where the tub meets the wall plus flooring are the most important areas which need caulking. 

An older or disabled person is more likely to wash daily if he doesn’t  have to care regarding his own safety or the power to stand long enough. Install a bath which has whirlpool jets, if you have got circulation problems. Walk-in bathtubs are very. 

A walk in bathtub or shower is a good piece of equipment for those with mobility issues or seniors. Allowing someone to use a tub safely, a walk in tub also is a soothing experience simply soaking in the tub. Like any large purchase, you need to get the ideal choices for your money.

The Akkulift from Drive Medical is a light-weight, battery-powered bath lift, designed to fit in standard size tubs. The Akkulift was designed to give the user independence while bathing. It features a side seat access and a powered backrest for reclining. The Akkulift disassembles easily into light-weight pieces for quick storage. The motor and 12-volt battery pack can do 20 lifts per charge, and the unit will not descend if there is not enough power for a lift. Another dafety feature...the Akkulift will not operate unless the battery is fully sealed for safety.
